The Michigan Lawn Mower Racing Association is for ages 12yrs and up that have a love of racing. We have 8 different classes that one can compete in. Since the begining we have grown to about 30 racers. All of our workers and officers are all volunteer. We are a member of the US Lawn Mower Racing Association . We have been featured on the Outdoor Chanel, Speed Tv.
We race at fairs, festivals we also host 1 day of a US points Race in Sparta, Michigan. Along with the Mikulas for the other day. The race weekend money goes towards the Research for Huningtons Disease. We race for points, trophies, and bragging rights.
We believe that lawn mowing is not just a weekend chore anymore but a competitive sport.
The classes are:
JP-junior prepared, this gives the kids a chance to get started out in racing with a restricted mower
I-MOW- Drivers class, alll these mowers are restricted to the same motor rpm,air pressure, gear ratio.
AP- 8 hp engine with internal mods, gear ratio is open.
SP- 12hp valve in block single cylinder motor
CP- Single cylinder ohv motor, or a opposed twin cylinder motor
BP- 20hp V-twin class, These machines are fast and loud.
FX- up to 465cc engine, open wheel design, these machine are light and very fast.
MP- up to 20hp unmodified engine, steel wheels, This class only runs in Michigan local races it is a very cost efective way to get into racing.

What about saftey? You will need a full face helmet, neck roll, leather gloves, over the anckle leather shoes, long sleeve shirt.
We take the upmost concern with safety for the racers and spectators. The rule book also has a saftey section in it on the Equiptment required on the tractors also.
